Remove Verify phone timeout
i am non-stop trying to verify to a server and I didn't get the verify code.
this is really complicated for me and I want it to remove it.
I am tring it every day, and also, what's the time of the timeout?

I had an alt account. I wanted to add my phone there too. I didnt know that i can only use my phone number for obly 1 account. I used it and then deketed it from my alt. Then i wanted to use it again on my main but now it doesnt work... it says that it was recently used. Soon, 1 days will be passed. Does someone know how long it will take until the timeout will be gone? It would help me cuz im every day in discord + i got friends that i can only reach from discord (btw sry for my bad English)

I only have ONE account. My MAIN account.
I use that phone number ONCE. It lets me back in for a second. AND THEN BOOTS ME OUT?
I think, "hey this might just be a glitch". I use the same number WITH MY ONE ACCOUNT and it says its on a TIMEOUT!!?
Whats even more infuriating is how there is no saying of how LONG the timeout is for... 24 hours to 6 months sounds like too much uncertainty to me.
Great. Now im stuck with 200+ pings from partnerships and other servers and friends that I cannot access. Ive lost the main account of my server that is the only account with administrator perms.
And I have no idea how long its going to be like that!?
This just makes me feel sick inside.

I honestly completely agree. I need this timer removed because we have no way of knowing what the cooldown is, for what I know, It could be forever. Discord has made a mistake.

this is been a nightmare, i made a alt account linked it to my phone number i can't go on my account anymore i contacted discord, "we advise you to wait" bruh, discord is where i manage my work! and where i mostly get money for drawing for people

This is really annoying. Discord is my only way of talking to most of my friends and I also have a March 2016 account which is pretty early and I'm not letting it go. I love Discord and it's a great app but why should you get punished for using your own phone number on an alt account when it never specifies in the TOS that you shouldn't. Discord needs to fix this ASAP, some people are literally putting up with this and not talking to their friends. Imagine this during lockdown too!

Nitro member for over a year. They have my email, phone number, name, and where i live. Yet lock me out for helping my brother set up an account. This is beyond ridiculous.

i cant get into my discord account it says "this phone number was already used on another account" i took it off the account it was on and cant get into my main how long do i have to wait and KILALIAS is that what you were talking about when you said theres a 14 day cooldown

Fix this shitty phone verification system, i should be able to use the same number for my main and alt account, not everybody needs two phones just to accommodate your stupid number system.

has anyone had any luck with support its not even letting me use another number it says I need to update the app no matter what phone I put in however all the apps are up to date

Guys this happened to me today and I panicked for hours only to find out that it is a very simple thing to fix. USE ANOTHER NUMBER TO VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT. Put in the new phone number and wait for a code to be sent to that number then type in the code and you're in!!! You can then switch back to your old number whenever the timeout ends

Solution: To bypass the timeout, use a different phone number temporarily (e.g. your parent's or friend's phone number), and after 14 days switch back to your own phone number. However, this is still very annoying because discord did not give a warning of any sort beforehand.
Edit: I just saw a comment before mine which advised to do the same thing, so you may refer to theirs.

They literally do not care at all to fix this 2+ year old issue. You can actually abuse this to lock other people's Discords accounts for fun if you know someone's phone number by creating a new one and attempting to verify it using that phone number. It will flag the real account associated with that number and get it locked up until the number "cools down", at which point you can do it again to keep locking it indefinitely.
Great feature, Discord. I don't think I'll be renewing my Nitro anytime soon.

I legit switched to my alt account to test my bot, and it made me verify my phone to log in, and then it kicked me outta my main account, and now I can't use my main account for 14 days?? I have servers to run, bots to maintain etc... and I have to wait TWO WEEKS.... not a good system. I'm very mad at this whole experience.

Discord "safety" methods are awful and lazy but still haven't been fixed. At this point I'm not even surprised.

I only have one account that I tried to verify to join a server, and when I did it, it took me back to the verification page, so I entered it again but it said the number's being used by another account?? It's my own account? And I didn't even get verified so I'm not in the server, so I look it up and find out I might have to wait 2 weeks? Bruh

I really need my main account back. I literally just made a deal with a person to pay within 2 days! and now i have to wait 14 days!! This is very serious because if i don't pay he will sue my business.

Beck If it say's your phone number is being used on another account then you should contact discord support quick. Tho if it says your phone number has "recetly been used on another account" then you have to wait 14 days

This has been happening to me since December of 2021. Today is January 6, 2021. I researched beforehand and figured out that the timeout is fourteen days. After fourteen days later, I entered in my same phone number and it STILL is not working for my device. When it says the send the verification code to my phone, it says phone number invalid, I know my own freaking phone number. I seriously need this asap. I have literally been doing everything. I deleted Gmail accounts solely because I used one of those accounts with my phone number on it for another discord account. I downloaded an app for a secondary number, still didn't work. It deadass said it doesn't accept secondary phone numbers. This is such bullshit. I even emailed discord about my problem with the response only being "aRe YoU aBlE tO VeRiFy YoUr MoBiLe PhOnE nUmBeR?" YES, BECAUSE IT SAYS SO ON MY DAMN CONTACTS. FIX THIS NOW.

so im going to assume that this issue with the 14 day time out and lifting the number to re-register your number is still not fixed. i setup a alt account for troubleshooting and support. in the process it removed my number to my main discord and assigned it to my alt. when i signed back in to my main account i noticed it missing and tried to re-register only to find that its telling me that it has been registered to another account. so i went to my alt account and removed the number so that i could re-assign it to my main account. Only to discover that i still cannot re-add the number. When looking up online i see 14 day timeout which is absolutely absurd considering theres an email also registered to the account. but now i cant even sign back into the alt account to make any changes without verifying my number. Even if i was able to get a secondary number for the alt account i cannot add my main number back to my main account. I am a bit concerned that even after all these posts im seeing after 14 days people are still unable to re-add the number nor log into there accounts. I just sent an email for support like many others but this is very frustrating. if i enable 2F on my main will that help or make the problem worse, because now i gotta wait 2 weeks to see if i can re-register my number.
*DISCORD - YOU REALLY NEED PROPER MANAGEMENT WITH THIS PHONE REGISTRATION* - the BS excuse of "We do not lift or mod the phone registration requirements" is utterly BS. 14 days to regain access is the dumbest timeout policy ive ever heard of, you have email, phone, and 2F authentication methods for a reason. Why keep sending verification codes via mobile phones and we have to wait 14 days to use it and these codes expire before the 14 days is even up in the first place. Whoever came up with this system needs to be knocked out or fired! this is stupid! costing people time/money that DISCORD wont reimburse for the trouble.14 days needs to be revoked, or provide proper support

"Since you have recently attempted to verify this number already, our system will put a timeout on a number from being used again for anti-abuse purposes. You will need to wait for the end of the timeout to use the number once more or use a different number to verify the account.
The system automatically detects and generates a timeout period when a phone number has been used multiple times to verify an account, there is no ETA for when the number will be available to verify another account.
Note: A phone number can only be used to verify a single account"And my facial reaction is (-_-)"

I also got the same problem... I verified my alt account with my phone number because it was asking me to do so and it worked but then i did the same thing with my main account and it said "this phone number was recently used on a different account" and now I can't use neither my main account nor my alt account because it says it everytime I try to log in
