Remove Verify phone timeout
i am non-stop trying to verify to a server and I didn't get the verify code.
this is really complicated for me and I want it to remove it.
I am tring it every day, and also, what's the time of the timeout?

I literally verified using one of my parents numbers, it worked the first time when I had to verify myself because I was brought to a webpage that said "Something's going on here", and the only way for me to use discord again was to put a phone number. When I went to my settings, I accidentally remove the phone number when I was trying to change my password. The same "Something's going on here" page showed up, and when I tried to use the same phone number as the first time, it said that this phone number was used recently on an account so I couldn't use it anymore. Now I have to wait 14 days? Are you kidding? I have a cousin who lives on the other side of the world, and discord is the only way I can talk to her.

I went through this shit, and the thing to note here is that once your account gets hit with the "something's going on here" it is now considered a bot FOR LIFE. So it now MUST have a phone number attached it it is ever removed it will go back to the "Something's going on here page". my recommendation would be to once you gain access back into that account, just make a new account and invite yourself into all the same channels/invite all your friends to the new account, because it is actually aids

this is still an issue. i've been trying to get into my account and i even used my mom's phone number. i'm on my alt right now, and i'm on the verge of smacking someone. discord needs to fix this timeout or i'm gonna go nuts

Has anyone got their accounts back?? cause I haven't I accidentally removed my phone number due to how my fingers are fat and how blurry my screen is when I changed my password to a more secure password and It basically had the something is fishy shit and I tried to log in with my phone number but it gave me that 'This phone number has been recently used on another account '

Whelp got emailed back by discord informing me there isn't an exact time of timeout so you'll just have to repeat for a few days or more until it works. But good news kinda every try doesn't reset your timeout. Hope this helps I'm also waiting for the day I'll be able to put my number back in.

Ye uh so like I tried helping my bro, but I didn't know 2 accounts cant have the same #. I tried to verify my account with my number and he removed my number from his account. Now I get this message "number recently used" when I try to verify. Is the wait like randomized or 3 days? 14 days sound crazy lol

Don't worry, if you accidentally removed your cell, then you can use the number again in exactly 24 hours. :)

So like, my main it got hacked and then disabled, which my phone number is inside of it, when I try using my phone on my alt account which is technically my main now I guess, it says invalid phone number, so anyone got an idea of how long I need to wait? I contacted support through email 5 days ago and only got an automated message that they got the inquiry.... but no reply yet

Genuinely an awful and lazy system. I don't think the people over at Discord really care if this has been an ongoing thread for two years.

Yep, having the same issue. I'm on my alt here on the forums rn.
I got the "suspicious activity" popup on my alt, connected my phone number instinctively, now I'm locked out of my main account AND my alt because I removed my phone number from my alt in hopes I'd get my main back.
Gonna try to reconnect it in 24 hours.
Even then, it's an issue, because what normal person has two mfin phone numbers?? Seriously??
A LOT of people have at LEAST two accounts for many different reasons. I have two because I use it to store photos and to help test moderation in servers etc. So now, even if I get my main account back, my alt is basically gone unless I can figure out how to get a whole ass SECOND phone number for it.
The suspicious activity popup is ridiculous and I wish it was removed.1 -
I contacted the support but it is so frustrating, you can’t even verify it by email you NEED TO VERIFY WITH A PHONE but i don’t care about verifying but waiting 14 days for a stupid error 🙄😡

My friend wanted me to use my phone number for his account and later swapped his phone number in with no problem it didn't even give him the "something is going on here" page. I go to add my phone number back and I get an "invalid phone number" error. I can't access certain servers or enable 2fa. I tried contacting support but they said they will be escalating this ticket to a team member. Still waiting on a reply.
btw it's been like a year since this number was registered on any account

Its been a few months and it's still saying for me ur phone is invalid how long does it take till you can use your phone number its honestly really annoying

Has anyone tried deleting their other accounts and try logging in again? I was wondering if it might work since we are "only allowed to have 1 account."

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. the time out has been active for over 12+ hours which is becoming an issue. with people doing business and everything on here and this timeout is stopping it. This really needs to be fixed. If it was 3 days I would just wait patiently but 2 weeks?! That's ridiculous....

Well... İ had my phone number registered on my old account that got perma ban... And that account was banned 2 months ago, i still cannot verify my phone number on a server... Please help me.

I created an alt account a long time ago, and I used my phone number to set it up. Now that account has been shut down without warning and I can’t use that phone number to verify my main account now! There are certain servers that I really wanted to join, but I haven’t been able to without my number, and now every time I try to open Discord, a pop up tells me “something’s going on here, verify by phone,” and I CANT because my phone number has been INVALID for 6+ MONTHS

Yeah, I unfortunately got THE EXACT SAME FREAKING ISSUE just because I logged into my SIM card-less smartphone. My laptop was the only way I could use Discord and now I'm locked out of it for no reason. Garbage platform, 1/5 stars.

I took my number off my alt so I could put it on my main now it says this number has been recently used about how long will It take for me to try again and does timeout restart when you try and it’s saying the phone verification thing I’m scared I’m not gonna get my acc back

I verfied with my number. I got in my acc, all good, then went to settings to remove my number again cause i thought they only needed it for me to verify. As soon as i removed it, it asked me again to verfiy with my number but this time when i did, it wont let me in anymore and says this number has been used at an other acc before. Now what3 -
i was just messing around in settings, saw my old phone number attached to my account, thought, "okay i'll remove this", clicked remove and entered the password. locked me out of my account. I thought, okay, i'll just use my current phone number. i got into my account, thinking i had solved the issue, immediately entered settings again, ignoring my new dms, and removed the phone number attached to my account because I don't particularly want it there, especially since I don't want to be tricked into doing 2fa, i entered my password to remove it, and then got locked out again. now im being told theres a timeout?
this whole thing has given me a migraine and ive spent two hours looking for some sort of answer. this is just what happened to me and someone else in this thread had the same problem, where the second time they removed it they got locked out, to find there is a timeout? one thats length isnt set at all, between 24 hours to 14 days to 6 months? so you are left in this anxious state of not knowing? horrible. there was a huge event on a game and im usually there to discuss it with my friends the day one drops, and now i just feel left out.2
