We've detected something out of the ordinary going on. To continue using Discord, we will need you to verify your account.
"A petition for them to remove it". That's literally the message I got when I was using discord And at 3 days ago I had lots of tabs on doing other stuff, And decided to go back to Discord But that was when I had seen that pop-up message. I honestly don't know why discord had added that message, But They should really remove It cause It's frustrating a lot of people.
And again at that time when It happened I had the app and I had gotten a ping and clicked on It and brought me straight into the discord making me bypass the phone verification, But the only problem Is that when I clicked on servers to view messages It wouldn't load and it kept telling me "messages failed to load".
And another good reason why they should remove it is cause some people don't even have phones. And I think It's pretty dumb of Discord for assuming everyone that uses It has a phone. suggestion- They should add an Email verification.
And the thing Is I even contacted them as to why I had gotten that message and for them to remove it, And they said that they're not gonna remove the phone verification. And sometimes the staff would like take a week to reply and at other times they would just ignore you.
And I had to make an alt account and I don't even have my friends tag But I do have my server Invite but it's expired and there's no way for me to make a new one cause I'm locked out of my main account. And here's the feedback - "This feature is really irritating at least add an email verification or remove it completely. There are so many people out there who don't have phones.
And I have like 19 pings already and really want to see where it's from. (I can't even talk to my friends 😭) 
And If you see this message please leave a comment Cause I will reply to you, and I check my emails like 24/7.
And Also I don't even have a phone :(

Well Discord Support wont do anything about your situation.
Just dont think about discord anymore and if you do want to use discord in the next time just DM me on IG (mhibruchsal2019), ill send you a phone number you can use
Also just link your IG in your bio and tell all of your friends to add you there too.I mean yeah its macabre for discord to keep the SMS number of a deceased person but ok, they dont honor the dead instead they just want to prove how high their audacity is by keeping that number in their system.

I put my number, verified it and entered my password which worked, then I removed my number and it locked me out again. If I try to put in my password it’ll say something like “This Number has recently been used on a different account.” which is stupid. This is a very dumb “security feature”. I think it should be removed.

Same happened with me its only 1 option make another account which is unclaimed ask ur friends for a phone number because it worked for me and someone said that cant use parents phone be *secret* and recover ur account

you all are pathetic, I have been locked out for 2 days and now I have 10k+ pings. DISCORD please save this app, now for every server I have atleast 3 alt accounts on it all with the same rank just in case anything happens

even when u use a phone no it says it's invalid I talked to my friends about this issue they think it might be because of better discord **BUT GUESS WHAT I DONT USE IT** discord's bot prevention is shit.

Hey I've found a solution to fix it. All you have to do is get another account to generate a verification code for your main account.

Further elaboration:
All you have to do is get another account to generate a verification code for your main account.
For example on a new account add a phone number.
Upon adding a phone number a verification code gets sent to that phone number.
Go back into your main account in incognito mode or on a different device and enter the verification code that was sent using the new account you just created.
Since both accounts are trying to verify their accounts with the same number Discord will accept the account that enters the correct generated code first.
Also if you don't have a phone number use an online SMS number from the UK or any other European country. Just be aware that since those phone numbers are public someone else might remove the phone number from your account and you're back to square one.

Same here my guy I have like 2 accounts and both of them has the same thing I wish discord remove that thing I already have 500+ pings from my mates and servers.
