Use phone number, mobile QR code feature, or profile connections to verify a user in order to change password or view backup codes

I know I'm extremely stupid, but ever since I got my new phone, I've been locked out of my 2FA and for some reason none of my back-up codes that I saved are working and I have no way of getting into my 2FA application. I also have forgotten my password. The only reason I'm able to log into my account at all is because I am logged in on my phone and I have been using the QR code feature to login on desktop. I have tried countless passwords to unlock my backup codes but none of them have been working. I basically have access to my account but I cannot manage it whatsoever and it is extremely nerve-racking for me. I would make a new account, but the problem is that I have had this account for many years and I have badges and memories and old friends on this account that I cannot lose. For a while now, I have been trying to find ways to somehow gain more access to my account again, but to no avail. I have had a full conversation with support through email and I wasn't able to be helped. I was only sent here.

I would just like a feature to be added to use something that is more accessible in order to view backup codes, change password, or something like that. I know it ruins the purpose of 2FA, but I have nothing else I can do. My mentality that I'm having right now is that if I can use this QR code feature to login, then I should be able to use it to view my backup codes at the very least.

    Even if you don't have this problem, please upvote to help someone out. I really do think that if I can use the QR code feature on my phone to verify and log in instantly, then I should be able to use the QR code feature see my backup codes. I don't think it makes sense otherwise.

    Yes, quite similar. Thank you for pointing this out. I do think that methods other than SMS should exist, namely the QR code feature since it requires you to be logged in on a phone and it a good method of Authentication. Both of them seem notable and make sense.
