I have the razer kraken 7.1 usb headset.
Thanks to some posts above, I can confirm that for myself doing a proper uninstall of razer synapse (2.0) will fix audio issues. I no longer have bleeding ears.

I have had the same issue for a while now and I glitches to the point where other apps start to do it and it's annoying as hell when I get ear raped to the point where my ears bleed. And unplugging it almost every time is not fun.

Got the same problem.

Been having the same problem for a couple months now, get in a call with some friend(s) and the audio just goes up like 1000% and the audio gets all distorted and ear rape and breaks my ears... however when I use the discordapp on the actual website there are 0 issues with the audio getting distorted and the super loud 1000% ear rape is gone. I also use Razer man o war wireless.

Solution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me it helps when I deactivate and activate the headset in windows options
Rightclick and click on "deactivate and after that activate it again the same way.2 -
Hello, Razer wireless man o war user here having the exact same issue! The last update has obviously messed something up. Discord please fix this issue! It is insanely annoying having to try to mess with it for five minutes every day trying to get it to work properly. Sometimes resetting discord voice settings works, sometimes it doesn't. :(

Hey all. Wanted to drop a message. I have been in contact with support and have been doing some testing. At the very least they are now aware of the issue. Now we just have to hope they can find a fix for it. I have also found that unplugging my Bluetooth receiver for my headset and plugging it back in is a 100% fix as it seems to force a reset of the audio software.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION!!!
I found a solution which may work for someone, not quite sure. But if you open up Razer Synapse and under your "headset", and press Mixer.

You can see there is a headset volume, and application volume. For some people (It happened for me too) the discord app is not showing up. You can fix this if you open up discord, and go under Settings and at the bottom go under "Windows Settings", and disable "Open Discord". So it automatically doesn't open up discord before your razer synapse is open.

After you have done this you need to Restart your PC, so this change will take affect. After you have done all of the steps above, you need to open up Razer Synapse if you haven't already (IT'S VERY IMPORTANT YOU DON'T OPEN DISCORD BEFORE YOU HAVE FULLY OPENED RAZER SYNAPSE). Now you should be able to go under headset and open up Mixer, and you should be able to see your headset volume and discord volume. It should now look like the first picture. If it doesn't then im sorry, i don't have a solution for it. But if it works you need to click on the little Triangle, beside the mute button on the discord app.

And you should be able to see 7.1 and 2.0. Simply just change it from 7.1 to 2.0 (Mine was already 2.0 because i changed it), and it now should be fixed. Please tell if it works im very curious, it has worked for me 5 times in a row now. It could be luck though.

I found and have been using the method above for the past week or so now. Worked pretty regularly until today as even if Synapse 2 registers discord it can just randomly stop detecting it and get loud again. Closer to the problem but not a guaranteed fix.
Also I am using Man O' War's

@RubyRex0200 your a G my man. My fix until now has been to unplug and then replug my headset, and yes if i did it whilst having any other application open, they would get the 2000% volume bug, so it would take some attempts. Your fix works for me, you just have to add (to your original post) that you have to open discord after opening synapse, or in my case make it a little clearer because i was waiting for 2 min before my brainfart stopped and i realised that it wasn't detecting a service that isn't running (Discord). Your fix worked and i'm very glad ^^ Thank you on behalf of my knees and sanity xd

@MeisterDexo omg this worked for me :o
Edit: 09/04/2020
The problem still happen. :(1 -
This fix works to some extent. The Discord app does not appear in the mixer until I connect to a channel and even though Synapse is open before Discord I still get the volume bug.
Reconnect to the channel or restart Discord multiple times is the only way to sort it out for me when this happens

I have Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma and exactly the same issue since maybe 2 months.
Literally none of the fixes provided in this thread helped with the problem and it only seems to get worse, even restarting and countless tries of leaving and calling again didn't help at all. Today it didn't work once while sometimes, it works instantly, but this was long ago...I have 3, sometimes even more instances of discord running despite having it set on 2.0 instead of 7.1 in Razer Synapse.
I reinstalled Razer Synapse as well as Discord and nothig happend. One incident was particulary interesting when I tried to set everything to 1% volume and it seemed to be acceptable, even with the sound bug, until the moment where everything started to get even louder and louder and it sounded like a fricking rocket was taking off in my friends room, just from one second to another. I immediately left the voicechat and when I rejoined, the bug was just gone and everything worked normally, super weird...
Come on Discord... please fix this issue! This is unbearable.

Same issue, synapse 2.0, Kraken 7.1 chroma

Idk if its a real problem of Discord, yesterday I had a meeting in Zoom App, and I had this problem too.

Having the same problem and having tried all the solutions above, none of them worked.
I decided to uninstall all the sound drivers installed on my computer (Razer Synapse and Realtek) and installed VoiceMeeter instead. It works like a charm!

Having the same issue here, I use Kraken 7.1 Chroma
I've uploaded the sound logs to discord, I don't think they will look at it, but I did my part.Make sure you all upload the sound logs so they can understand the issue

Potential fix found
1. Task manager and close all discord processes
2. Proceed to this file: C:\Users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\Discord\app-0.0.305
3. Open the discord.exe of the app-0.0.305 file
4. When prompted to switch to new audio device, click "dont switch"I hope this brings a short term fix, any issues just dm me on discord @ Duckus#1109

Can reaffirm that it is a bug in relationship between discord and synapse 2. Switched from the Man O' War's to the Nari Ultimate (which uses synapse 3) and have not had sound profile problems since. Kinda infuriating that I had to buy an entire new headset just to avoid this problem but I am at my wits end dealing with this. The previous audio logs are sent to support and hopefully ill get to pick my old headset back up when this is finally resolved.

Guys, try to disable the option:
"Enable quality of service high packet priority" in discord audio settings..

Every time I'm seeing Discord has an update I'm more eager than ever to install it only to immediately find out that it's still not fixed

I got a Razer Man O'War and have had this issue for the past two months and have had a back and forth with Razer support. I can safely conclude that this isn't just a Discord issue. I've come to this conclusion as while I do predominantly experience this issue with Discord, I can also easily reproduce it in Apex Legends, where if I start the game for a second time in one boot, the game will be unbearably loud.
After the back and forth with Razer support they concluded that they could not reproduce it locally and chalked it down to an external issue with another program. However I've had Razer Synapse 2 uninstalled for the past week and not had a single issue whatsoever. Thus I have my suspicions that potentially something in a Windows update caused the issue, but there are too many small updates for me to go through and test each one unfortunately.
I hope this helps with other people's troubleshooting and we can determine the root cause of the issue eventually.
EDIT: Here is the final message I've received from Razer Support:
I'm a little confused on how it's "outside our team's means" but it will also "be fixed with future Synapse updates."0 -
^
I have the same problem both on Discord and Apex legends, I'm going to uninstall synapse 2 and install synapse 3 though there's no support for manowar on Synapse 3.

Hi guys! I have a 100% solution for this.. Think both discord and Razer will not update this because its only known with this headsets..
So.. the solution.
First of all Close the Discord appLocate the discord folder at your PC, in my case -> C:\Users\"My Username"\AppData\Local\Discord\app-0.0.306\
rightclick on Discord.exe and choose properties
choose compatibility and activate run as administrator and then run in windows 8 compatibility mode and apply.
delete your shortcut and make a new one. Then run the program. This works for me but if you still having problem try to troubleshoot compatibility in properties/compatibility at the top.
THIS SOLUTION ENDED MY 1000% VOLUME BUG! thx and good luck =)7
