Read/Seen Messages
I really think Discord should have a 'seen/read message' feature, mainly for DMs. I can never tell if someone has read my message or not. It'd be really useful to know if someone's ignoring me. Overall, I feel that it would be good to know if someone read a message I sent without having to reply or reacting to it. I'm unable to tell if a friend of mine read my message without having to ask if they did. It might be just me, but it kind of irritates me a bit when I do have to confirm. Also, for those saying that you can just react to a message, not everyone reacts to a message showing that they read what you sent, hardly anyone that I message does.
I don't think this would work for servers, but it would definitely work for direct messages. If people have mixed feelings about this, maybe this could be a feature that can be toggled off/on. A lot of other messaging apps have this feature, but I also think Discord should also have this. Overall, I think this would be useful for me and other people.
(Edit): This has so many comments, thanks, guys! But we really need more upvotes in order for Discord to see this. I'd really love for this feature to be released, please upvote guys. Really appreciate the comments from both sides. Hopefully, they'll notice eventually.

Yeah I'd really like it implemented as well. I have a friend who is often busy but comes online like, every 4-6 minutes, and i'd really like to know if they read what i say while they're busy or not

Yeah, no thanks.
My social anxiety is crippling enough as it is, and so are plenty of others who have it as bad and get stuck between things when they get busy as well. I don't want my friends to find I'm thinking of them just to expect that I'm not thinking of them.
I've had read messages get jumped on within the hour, and sometimes it takes more than that in a day with a busy lifestyle or as well as an easily distracted mind.
Some of us like to think out our responses without the pressure.
I can only say that it'd be acceptable purely as a mutual setting.

It is very much needed.
For those who think about privacy etc… well, lets make it optional then.But be aware, its a useful feature if you use discord to organize a community of people knowing each other in real life and who never had a problem with ‘read receipts’ on facebook groups etc.
It's just a matter of common sense. If you drop a message to a thread 'is anybody free today at 19.00' you want to know who has read it, rather than agreeing with people that everybody has to say ‘not me’ or do a reaction or whatever just to indicate the ‘no’.
