What is Nitro Squad?
Nitro Squad is a monthly subscription that provides Nitro memberships for up to 6 accounts under one plan. Each Nitro Squad includes 1 plan owner and up to 5 plan members for $33.99 AUD per month.

Who is eligible for the Nitro Squad Beta?
To purchase or be added to a Nitro Squad plan, plan owners and members must meet the following conditions:
- Must be located in Australia
- Cannot have an annual Nitro subscription
- Cannot have a pre-existing subscription from a mobile app store
- Cannot have an active Gift subscription or active Nitro Credits
- Can only be in one Nitro Squad every 12 months, starting from the day you create or join a Nitro Squad.
Additional Eligibility Guidelines
If you have a separate Server Boost subscription
- You can create a Nitro Squad.
- You can’t join a Nitro Squad while your Server Boost subscription is active.
To join, you’ll need to cancel your Server Boost subscription first.
If you have Nitro Credits
Active Nitro Credits
- You can’t join a Nitro Squad until your active Nitro Credits are fully used.
Inactive Nitro Credits
- You can join a Nitro Squad.
- Your Nitro Credits will be saved and will be used after you leave the Nitro Squad.
How do I create a Nitro Squad plan?
1. Press on the Discord icon in the upper left corner of the Discord app, then navigate to the Nitro tab.
2. Press Subscribe at the top, or locate the Nitro Squad card farther down the page
If you’re an existing Nitro subscriber, you can upgrade to a Nitro Squad plan by locating Switch Plans in Subscription Settings under User Settings.
3. Follow sign up steps.
How do I join a Nitro Squad plan?
1. You will receive an invite to join a Nitro Squad in your direct message (DM) with the Nitro Squad plan owner.
2. Press the See Invite button to begin the process of joining a Nitro Squad and to determine whether your account is eligible to join a Nitro Squad.
Managing Your Nitro Squad and Subscriptions
As a Plan Owner
Plan owners of a Nitro Squad can manage their subscription and perform the actions below in the Subscriptions Settings page under User Settings.
Inviting Members:
- You can invite up to 5 members
- Members don't need to be on your friends list
- Invitations do not automatically expire. You’ll need to cancel the invite if you want to send it to someone else by selecting Cancel Invite when hovering over someone’s name.
- You cannot send more invitations than available slots
Removing Members:
- You can remove members at any time by hovering over someone’s name in Subscription Settings
- When removed, members lose access immediately to all perks except their Nitro Badge, which will remain available for a 7-day grace period. Removed members can re-subscribe to Nitro during the 7-day grace period to maintain their current Nitro Badge level.
Other:
- You can cancel your Nitro Squad subscription at any time
- If you want to downgrade to another Nitro plan, you must first cancel your Nitro Squad subscription. If you cancel your Nitro Squad subscription, you must resubscribe to Nitro or a Nitro Squad to maintain your current Nitro Badge level.
- You will receive proration credit when upgrading your existing Nitro, Basic, or Classic individual plan to Nitro Squad if applicable
As a Plan Member
As a Nitro Squad plan member, you don’t need to manage the group plan. This section covers what to know when joining or leaving a Nitro Squad, along with a few limitations for members.
Joining a Nitro Squad:
- You do not need to be Discord Friends with the Nitro Squad plan owner to be invited to their Nitro Squad
- You will immediately forfeit all remaining subscription time if you have an existing Nitro, Basic, or Classic individual plan or free trial when you join a Nitro Squad as a member. You do not receive proration credit or refunds.
- If you have an existing Nitro plan with utilized Server Boosts and you join a Nitro Squad, you will not be able to keep your Server Boosts from your original plan
- After joining a plan, you will not be able to purchase a separate Server Boost subscription.
Leaving a Nitro Squad:
- You can remove yourself from a plan at any time
- You lose access to Nitro immediately upon leaving
- Your 12 month window must finish before joining another group plan, including the one you just left
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does badge progression work?
A: Each member gets their own badge streak, starting when they create or join the plan:
- Nitro Badge: 7-day grace period when entering and exiting the plan to maintain streaks
- Server Boost Badge: 3-day grace period
- Plan owners who upgrade and members who join an existing plan keep their streak if they already have a Nitro subscription.
Q: Who can purchase additional Server Boosts?
A: Plan members cannot purchase additional Boosts. Plan owners can purchase additional Boosts at the discounted rate.
Q: What happens if I'm removed from a plan unexpectedly?
A: We’ll send you an email to let you know. Your access to Nitro perks ends immediately, except for your Nitro Badge which follows a 7-day grace period. You must also wait for the end of your 12 month cooldowns before joining any other Nitro Squad plan.
Q: When does the 12 month eligibility period begin?
A: The 12 month period begins when you create or join a Nitro Squad.
Q: Can I rejoin the same Nitro Squad plan if I leave?
A: No. Once you leave, you cannot rejoin it. You must also wait for the end of your 12 month cooldown before joining any other Nitro Squad plan.
Q: What happens to my existing Nitro subscription if I join a Nitro Squad plan?
A: You will immediately forfeit any remaining time on your individual subscription with no proration or refund. Make sure you're ready to switch before accepting an invitation.
Q: What happens if the plan owner's account is banned?
A: It depends on the type of ban:
- Limited Access or Temporary bans: No impact on the plan or members
- Permanent ban: No change until the next renewal date, then the plan auto-cancels. All members will receive email notification when the subscription is cancelled
Q: What happens if my account as a member is banned?
A: It also depends on the type of ban:
- Limited Access or Temporary ban: No impact on your membership
- Permanent ban: You are automatically removed from the group immediately and the plan owner will receive an email notification
Q: What happens if a plan owner or plan member blocks each other?
A: If either the plan owner or the plan member blocks the other, the member will be removed from the plan. This applies whether the owner blocks the member or the member blocks the owner.
Q: Can I have a Nitro Squad membership and a Server Boost subscription at the same time?
A: Only if you are the plan owner. Plan members cannot have additional Server Boost subscriptions while on a Nitro Squad plan.
Q: What if I'm locked out of my account and can't leave/end a plan?

Q: I'm a current subscriber with an existing offer. Can I still join Nitro Squad?
A: Yes, you can have an existing subscription from one of our Nitro promotions and still be eligible for Nitro Squad.
Q: Will my billing date change if I upgrade to Nitro Squad?
A: Yes, your billing date will be adjusted based on when you create or join the Nitro Squad plan.
Q: I can’t find the plan invite - where is it?
A: Your Nitro Squad invite can be found in your direct message from the person who manages the plan. If you can’t find it, it might be because you’ve never DM’d the person before. Check Message Requests tab under Direct Messages
