Discord Account Appeals (What you need to know)
Discord Account Appeals Process (everything you need to know)
If you find your Discord account disabled or banned and believe it was done in error, you can submit an account appeal to request a review of your case. Discord's account appeal process is designed to give users a chance to explain their situation and potentially have their accounts reinstated. Here's a detailed explanation of how the process typically works after submitting an appeal:
Step 1: Await Response: After you've submitted the account appeal form, you'll have to wait for Discord's support team to review your case. Response times may vary depending on the volume of appeals they receive, but it's essential to be patient. Avoid submitting multiple appeals, as it can slow down the process and may even harm your chances of a successful resolution.
Step 2: Discord Support Team Review: The Discord support team will assess your appeal and investigate your account's history and the reason for the ban. They may also consider your previous interactions and reports, as well as any relevant evidence you provided in the appeal form.
Step 3: Decision and Communication: After their review, Discord's support team will reach a decision on your appeal. If they find that the ban was unwarranted, they will reinstate your account. However, if they determine the ban was justified, your account will remain disabled, and there may be no further appeal options available.
Step 4: Acceptance or Further Action: If your account appeal is successful, you'll receive a notification or email confirming your account's reinstatement. You'll then be able to log back into Discord using your account as usual. If your appeal is denied, there might not be any further recourse, and you'll have to respect the decision and abide by Discord's rules and guidelines going forward.
Important Tips:
- Always be respectful and courteous in your communication with Discord's support team.
- Avoid creating multiple tickets as an attempt to speed up the appeal process, doing so will only slow it down.
- If you believe you were falsely reported or targeted by others, mention that in your appeal with any supporting evidence. (i.e. mass reported)
Remember that the appeal process is not guaranteed to result in the reinstatement of your account, but it's a fair opportunity to present your case to Discord's support team for review.
Hopefully this article answers any questions or concerns users have on how the appeal system works! I have noticed a severe spike in forum posts being created regarding account appeals, therefore I created this article to answer all FAQ on this topic.
Best of luck with your accounts, hoping for a positive outcome!
Best Regards, Haunt

Howdy !Markezza,
I can assure you it isn't useless to explain the situation behind your account being disabled. The support team truly does review these cases and take necessary action when it comes to reinstating accounts. Do not worry though, as it takes up to 31+ days before your account is fully deactivated. Rest assured your case will be reviewed before your account is deleted.

Hey Fild 37724,
If your appeal is denied, it is because they thoroughly reviewed your account and found the reported content to be accurate, which would result in no reinstation of your account. However, if what you have explained to me is true, your account will be reinstated once your ticket is reviewed.
Have a nice night.
Best, Haunt

They better do a correct action, am not that underage like there false report .

Haunt is there actually the 14 day doom timer everyone keeps talking about? I really don’t want my account to get deleted but at the same time I have no idea if this is true or not.
1 -
Hello everyone, I would like to clarify something.
After your account is disabled, it takes 31+ days before it is fully deactivated, not 14. It will not vary between 14-31 it will always be 31+ days due to the time it takes to resolve appeal tickets.
Do not be worried about the time given in the email, I can assure you it will always be over a month before the account is deactivated.
Best, Haunt

My account was deleted on the 30th day of being disabled, almost on the exact hour. Water under the bridge now, I suppose, but it was unfortunately an extremely disappointing experience with Discord Support who never responded to my ticket inquiring as to why my account was disabled; they also ignored my account data request.

A bit of info:
Someone told me that he got his hacked account back after 9 months.-1 -
Hey haunt, if I made two tickets and both redirect to the ticket I had in queue first, will that slow down the process? I got falsely banned for ‘being underage’ when im wayyy older than that.

Hi Mysticbusiness14,
Yes, that is okay to create tickets for the purpose of redirecting to the original ticket created. However, I do not recommend creating multiple as that may hinder the process and slow it down.

Howdy Aeromexico,
Sorry that happened to you! If the team didn't reinstate your account then it's likely you did violate the terms of service. They are pretty strict when it comes to determining if accounts violate the guidelines or not. There have been claims of a similar occurrence happening other users, which I do not have an answer to. I hope you've created a new account and continue to use the platform as per before your account was disabled.

Haunt I sent in my appeal, my follow up, and my apology for what i genuinely thought was the reason for my account to be disabled.
As of this moment, my account is slowly slipping away as it shows being a deleted user…
It's a 3 year old account which i can no longer moderate the servers i owned. I am devastated. I hope you have some insight, since my cases are still open even though the account appears to be in process of deletion…I simply cannot fathom how or why this happened, other than I accidentally logged in on my work computer while on my phone at the same time, or i spammed a channel by posting a bit too fast. If i was mass reported for something, i would not have the slightest idea for what it could be.
The vague answer for what i did, does not help at all. And i apologized in my appeal for spamming and asked for forgiveness and to never do it again. If the appeal staff are as caring and concerned as you state they are, wouldn't additional context be provided by them? Or at least ask the questions that may be fruitful in what we need to provide?
It appears to me that the service being provided is not as user friendly nor user helpful, but more so as, “We'll let the AI (Clyde) be judge, jury, and executioner, and deal with the dislike aftermath.” And then proceed to listen to the complaints or just close out the tickets to keep the pile down.
I would like to know what they are thinking, since there is no real voice to platform save the unofficial voice you have provided with sensible knowledge and information. I try my best to keep this impersonal, however it has completely turned over much of my personal life for worse since i can no longer access the fun hobbies and groups i was apart of since joining the platform.I look forward to your reply, all the best.

Also I tried to bring attention to the appealing ticket and those were replied to but the actual appeal itself never got a reply and it’s been 13 days. What the heck is going on?

Hi, Haunt
I have a question regarding account destabilization due to being under 13. I was requested to provide evidence of myself through a photo ID that has my birth certificate, and my discord user on a piece of paper. I've done that and I've received a human response, but I am waiting for them to review this. However, the I had to use my BRP which has my image in the front, and my date of birth on the back; I've sent two photos with one having the front, and the other having the back, but the email said I must provide only one photo, would this be an issue? Or would a solution be to add both images together as one.
I also have another question, the support ticket I had created which received a human response had not confirmed any of the boxes provided, e.g. if I read the ToS before sending the ticket, or if the email provided was the email that is associated with the disabled account, I had not gotten these options and I also had not provided a date of birth, which I was fairly certain I had. Would this cause any problems for my ticket, and any responses I get in the future?

I was banned about 8 days ago for “indicating that I was underaged” (I'm not) and haven't received a response yet while my friend who got banned a bit earlier than me for the same reason gotten unbanned at the 8 day mark. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? Constantly having to worry about my account being deleted at the 30 day mark is stressful. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Any updates on how your account appeals are coming? Was the information I provided useful?
Let me know!

Haunt I'm noticing that when you fill out a ticket to “Appeal an action taken on my account or bot” > “An action taken on my account” that check boxes like “CONFIRM: I have read the Terms of Service (https://dis.gd/terms) and Community Guidelines (https://dis.gd/guidelines) to learn about Discord’s policies before submitting my appeal.” do not show unless you are on the “An action taken on my bot” path. This is concerning beacuse I fear that not having these checked will make support ignore the ticket as improperly filled out. Can you confirm that this is fine that these questions are not asked and are not set or is the form broken?

hello, 08/20/2023 at lunch, my discord account was disabled, although before lunch, I was chatting with friends on the servers and everything was fine, and there was nothing foreshadowing trouble. so, then I decided to log in to discord again, but I was knocked out of my account, entering my data, I saw the inscription in red "Your account has been disabled". I immediately went to write to technical support, saying that I had done nothing wrong and was blocked. this thing has been tormenting me for 3 days, I had a lot of servers and friends on that account....having not received a clear answer from the support, I'm already giving up. I would be grateful if someone responds to my commen

Hello Haunt, my account was disabled recently for being a part of a server that was breaking the TOS.
Subsequent to my account's dismission, I was begged in direct messages by a random user to join for the purpose of increasing the count of constituents and presumably gain some popularity, and obliged to get them to stop. (Note: The thumbnail was blank, and I thought the server was innocent, considering the title, i.e., TinySillia’sPlayhouse.)
I was never interested in seeing what it had to offer. Huge mistake.
I never received any notifications from the server or interacted with its members, and was completely oblivious to what was transpiring inside. And before long, it sank in the roster of my other servers.
That is until yesterday, when my account was disabled for my involvement in the server, because there was content that depicted minors in deplorable scenes. I was appalled and completely disgusted. It makes me sick to my stomach, and I would never condone or endorse anything like that. I sent out a few appeals (another mistake), just to see how it worked. I hope the process isn't impeded for too long.
In retrospect, I should've seen what the server was about, so my own ignorance plays a part in this whole fiasco. It was an earnest mistake, and I am praying it doesn't cost me the account I've made lots of good friends on over the years to be deleted.
I know the support team is probably busy all the time, but I really hope that they view my appeals and understand.
