Fix Phone Verification
My account asks me to verify by phone nearly every other day. I have two factor authentication enabled. I connect from the same devices. Nobody else has logged into the account. I have not used a new device. Regardless, I continue to be asked to do the same phone verification over and over. Today, the verification told me "This phone number was recently used on a different account." The phone was definitely not used for a different account since I last verified. The only thing I can think of is that Discord flagged the phone to not be used after I used it two days ago, and the time length still hasn't expired, so now I have to use a different phone to verify the same account.
Discord needs to fix this phone verification system immediately, otherwise those of us that use Discord on a regular basis will need to switch platforms to ensure that we aren't disrupted during an event. I personally use discord to communicate with a guild. Many people I play with regularly make new accounts to get arround these verification problems. If I cant find a proper resolution I will be creating a Matrix server to provide all of us with an alternative platform that doesn't constantly have problems. Currently, I would need to purchase a new phone number to get my account verified, and the cost of doing so would be more money than paying for a Matrix server. So, from my perspective it is more affordable to leave Discord. The only reason I would not leave discord is to save other people the hassle of switching platforms.
I have opened, and will continue to open support tickets. So far, the support has been unhelpful in resolving this issue, and I expect that they will continue to be unhelpful. It is likely that support does not have the resources to correctly fix the verification problems, because they are problems in the way the platform is programmed, not problems that can be fixed with the type of tools available to support staff.
Hopefully other people can post to say that they have had similar problems. I've personally communicated with many. I might see if I can rally up a bunch of people to make this really apparent that it's a real issue and not just a random complaint. I understand that discord wants to get phone numbers to tie to the data they gather on their users, and I also understand that they want to keep spam and hacking minimized, but it is working against their own interests to lock out legitimate users from accounts, especially when users like myself have 2FA enabled and working.

I sadly don't have a phone number, so i thought just leaving the phone number verification blank.
But then 10 days ago the phone verification went back to my stream page, and now i cannot access discord.

Same thing here.
My phone number was associated with a rogue account (no email). After fixing that problem, now it tells me that my phone number was "associated with another account recently". No idea whether this is a temporary security measure, and if so, how long should I wait.

Guys, remove that number from the account that was being used, and try again after 3 days, it should work. I guess it is on a 3 day cooldown.

The same problem appeared a few days ago and I can't solve it in any way. I contacted the support service - so far to no avail.
I tried to log into the account on another device (two-factor identification was enabled) and this problem appeared with the binding of the phone numberNow he writes - "this phone number is tied to another account", although I do not have another account and naturally did not tie my phone number to it

See, this is where discord messes up. Some people do not have phones. But only a email. Their phone could, be taken. Or, never had a phone. But discord does not care. As all they are doing is ignoring people's emails. Not listening to anyone. Yet they do, all of these other updates, but cannot do the important updates or tend to fix problems like these. Like this is no joke. I emailed, discord about me being locked out of my account, and not being able to access it even tho. I have done nothing wrong. Yet, they do not care about what a person says or emails them. Its supposed to be "support" but yet, most of all discord is getting replies. There's going to be a day where people will get sick of this. And they will find another site, like discord. And start using that.

I'm having the same issue while trying to authenticate to another server I've been invited to. It sends the code to my phone. However now it just says already connected to another account. When I look inside my settings I don't even have a number added yet. So when I try to add my phone # it gives me the same error message about this # is already connected to another account.
This is my only account. I hope they can find a resolution to this. Does't make me want to build my own community server if other users may face this issue as well....

Same issue. Had to use a different account entirely for something briefly and now I cant reconnect to my other one since the Phone Number is glitched. Despite me removing it from the other account it still won't let me use it on my normal account.

I also had the same problem. Why is it that when I go to another server, it forces me to re-verify my phone number when I have verified it before. Then again it says that "An existing Discord account is already using this number". It's stupid, why do so many people have this problem but the developer doesn't fix it, doesn't see the admin reply. a big app?, garbage.

Yes, I too just had this problem. Man, it's so frustrating. I was told to verify my number and did so. Then, because I didn't want random people from my contacts knowing my account username, I decided to take my number off right away. But when I did, I got the message again, and now whenever I try to put my number in and go through the same steps, it says that the number was used recently. I don't know when the problem will go away, I've got many friends in that account that I have a good time with. By the way, I emailed the support guys and hopefully they help right away, but I don't know how long it'll take.

So I contacted my friend on discord via an alt account, he said this resets after 24 hours of doing that action.

I have this problem currently i need my phone number for a server's verification step but it keeps saying that my number was connected to a different account so tried logging into a non existant account with my phone number and using the forgot password method (i never made an alt account for discord) but it never sent me a code now it seems like i have to make a new account for discord because it wont let me use my phone number for the verification

Same issue. When a server asks for phone verification, it automatically links the phone *thus removing previous link* with the account in use.
I'm a server owner who can't troubleshoot anything because I tried to verify phone # on another server.
Trash system. Learn to use phone verification like Google does.0 -
And don't say "Phone verification required" when it's an "Account Phone Link required", big difference, especially if you remove all permissions from the previous account with ZERO notification about it.
