Quests are a way for players to discover games and earn rewards for streaming them on Discord.
How do I complete a Discord Quest?
Here are the steps to complete a Discord Quest:
1. Accept the Quest
2. Complete the Quest Requirements
3. Claim your reward
Please see below for more detailed information on how to complete each step.
Accept the Quest
Via Quest Bar
You may see an alert in your Discord app about a Discord Quest. Hover over the Quest bar and select it to expand and learn more about the Quest. If you want to participate, you can press Accept Quest.
Via Discover
You can also select the Discover icon [] at the bottom of the server list on the left side of the app.
This will direct you to the Discover page where you can explore available Discord Quests, by selecting the Quest tab within the Discover list. You can learn more about Discover here.
In Quests, you can view recent and current Discord Quests. While here, press Accept Quest for active Quests to begin.
Completing Quest Requirements
Each Quest will have its own requirements:
- Playtime Requirement - To fulfill a Quest, players must engage with the game for a specified duration (e.g., 15 minutes). Ensure you are logged into the Discord desktop app while playing to accurately track your progress.
- Streaming Requirement - To complete a Quest, players need to stream the game to at least one friend in a voice channel using the Discord desktop app for a minimum duration (e.g., 15 minutes). For more details on how to use Go Live and screen sharing, please refer to the Go Live and Screen Share support article.
Within each Quest’s Promotion Terms, you will find the steps on how to complete the Quest.
Claim Your Reward
Once you have completed the Quest, you can claim the reward by pressing the Claim Reward button within any Discord Quest in-app notification.
The easiest way to claim your reward is by heading over to your Quest Home (Discover > Quests).
If you’re claiming an in-game item reward, you’ll be given a Discord Quest redemption code that you’ll need to redeem on the partnered game redemption website. You can find a link by heading over to our Active Discord Quests section and referring to the steps mentioned specifically for that Quest! You’ll also receive an email with redemption instructions once you’ve completed the Quest.
If you’re ready to claim a Discord reward, such as an avatar decoration, you can claim your reward by selecting the Claim Reward button.
Opting-out of Quests Promotions
If you’re not interested in receiving promotions of Discord Quests, you can control these promotions in the following ways:
Hide an In-app Promotion of an Individual Quest
If you still want to receive in-app promotions for future Quests, but you want to hide an in-app promotion for a specific Quest or game you’re not interested in, press the ellipsis [] on the Quest in-app promotion to access the menu and then select Hide This to hide this particular in-app promotion.
Once you've done this, you'll no longer receive notifications about this Quest in that particular in-app promotion style.
If you encounter a different in-app promotion for that same Quest (for example, you may also see the Quest in the Active Now section of the Discord app) you can hide those by following the steps mentioned above.
Opt-out of personalized promotion for all Quests
If you do not want to receive personalized promotions for any Quests based on your activity or data you share with Discord, you can disable your In-game rewards (aka Quests) settings within your Privacy & Safety settings.
1. Press the cogwheel [] in the bottom left corner of your Discord desktop/browser app to navigate to your User Settings.
2. Then select the Privacy & Safety tab in the left hand panel and scroll down to the How We Use Your Data section.
3. Disable the In-game rewards (aka Quests) setting by selecting the toggle. You can learn more about how data is used for in-game rewards here.
