What is a Custom Status?

Setting a Custom Status
Desktop/Browser
1. On the desktop or browser app, press your profile icon in the lower-left corner of the app to view your profile menu.
2. Select the Add Status bubble to create a custom status.
You can also manage when your custom status clears and what status you would like to set by selecting an option from the Clear After pull-down menu and Status pull-down menu.
3. When your custom status is all set, press Save in the lower-right corner of the Set a custom status menu.
Mobile
1. On the mobile app, long-press your profile icon in the lower-right corner of the app to view your profile menu in Account. You can also tap your profile icon > Add Status.
2. Select Set a custom status to create a custom status.
3. In Edit Status, you can create a custom status and choose from the Status Duration menu to set when your status will automatically clear.
4. Once your custom status is ready, tap Save in the upper-right corner to confirm.
5. This will lead you back to Account where you can also manage your profile status by selecting from the Online Status menu.
Editing or Clearing a Custom Status
Desktop/Browser
1. To edit or clear your custom status on desktop or browser, press on your profile icon in the lower-left corner of your app, and select your custom status.
2. Follow these steps:
- To clear your custom status, press the trash icon [] to remove it.
- To edit your custom status, press the pencil icon [] to make changes.

Mobile
1. To edit or clear your custom status on mobile, long-press your profile icon in the lower-right corner of your app. You can also tap your profile icon > Edit Status to make edits.
2. Follow these steps:
- To clear your custom status, tap the x icon [] to the right of your custom status to remove it.
- To edit your custom status, tap your current custom status to make changes.

Reacting and Replying to a Custom Status
Reacting on Desktop/Browser
1. To react to a user’s custom status on desktop or browser, select their profile icon to view their profile.
2. You’ll notice a Send Reaction icon [] above their custom status. Press this icon to choose and send a reaction.
3. A Reaction sent bubble will confirm that your reaction has been delivered to the user. The reaction will also appear in a DM with the recipient.
Replying on Desktop/Browser
1. To reply to a user’s custom status on desktop or browser, select their profile icon to view their profile.
2. You’ll notice a Reply to Status icon [] above their custom status. Press this icon to send a reply.
3. A Reply sent bubble will confirm that your reply has been delivered to the user. The reply will also appear in a DM with the recipient.
Reacting or Replying on Mobile
1. To react to a user’s custom status on mobile, tap their profile icon to view their profile.
2. Next, tap the custom status bubble. This will direct you to the Respond to Status page where you can:
- Send a reaction by selecting an emoji
- Reply with a message and tap the send icon []
3. A Reaction sent or Reply sent bubble will confirm that your response has been delivered to the user.
