We take your privacy seriously, and we’re constantly evaluating best practices. Below you’ll find a summary of the key updates to the Privacy Policy, but please do read the full policy, as your use of Discord will be subject to the updated policy. The changes go into effect on April 15, 2024.
Here are some highlights of what we updated:
- Improved Readability. We made the Policy easier to understand and made it easier to understand the legal bases we rely on to process your personal information.
- More context on how we use your information. We provided more context on how we use your information to personalize your experience on Discord, and we revamped our Data Privacy Controls Directory, so you can easily access and understand how to control your privacy.
- Clarified privacy rights. We moved the section of our Privacy Policy on user rights to a new Local Privacy Laws page. We also made updates to reflect changes in the law in the U.S. and internationally, including the Digital Services Act for users who reside in Europe.
- Nom, Nom, Cookies. We moved the section of our Privacy Policy regarding Cookies into a new Cookie Policy page.
