Better updating experience on Linux
Hi all!
I use Discord on Ubuntu Linux 20.04 (LTS), so I can only write from experience regarding Ubuntu. However, when a new major version is available for Discord on Ubuntu (e.g. an update from version 0.0.14 to 0.0.20) you get to see the following:

(above picture will be referred to as figure 1 from now on, alt text: a dialog box showing the text "must be your lucky day, there's a new update!", a D20 dice and a download button that leads to the Discord website)
This dialog box is blocking me from using Discord and forces me to manually download an installation package (.deb) from the website. To me, this doesn't feel like my lucky day. Instead, it takes double the time to get to start using Discord again compared to a Discord update on Windows (automatic update).
Now on to my request:
Please make the updating experience on Linux better by:
a) Adding a 'not at this time' option to the dialog box shown in figure 1; or
b) Removing the dialog box shown in figure 1, and instead show a non-blocking banner within the Discord application requesting a user to update using a download link; or
c) Update Discord automatically, even if this requires the user to authenticate (i.e. type in a password) within the operating system, in line with Discord versions on other platforms such as Microsoft Windows.

Won't disappoint you, because I also feel your pain, but this issue least since > 4 years and DISCORD-TEAM don't mind in any way about this issue.

Didn't find a single answer on this anywhere. Sad, but true :(Hey Guy's, this issue exist > 4 years, and discord-team doesn't care.
So maybe go trough this search-result, find all similar requests and UPVOTE them:Here are some direct links to those threads:

I am on fedora which installed discord via the 3rd party apps repo "rpmfusion"
I have also seen this very annoying delay.1 -
I haven't had this pop up automatically for me, but when the update icon appears in the client, pushing the button causes Discord to close and this to appear. Then I have to download the .deb file and run dpkg to actually install it.
Why does this button not automatically update the client like it does on Windows? It is extremely frustrating when the client provides an update button which requires the user to do it themselves.
