Learn about Discord Nitro's evolving profile badges, which show how long you've been a Nitro subscriber and automatically update to celebrate your membership milestones.

What are Evolving Nitro Badges?

All Nitro subscribers get a special profile badge when they sign up for Nitro. When you’re subscribed to Nitro, your profile badge will evolve to showcase different designs with each milestone that you reach. 

NOTE: The evolving version of the Nitro badge is not available for Nitro Basic or Classic. 

How Evolving Badges Work

Your Nitro badge will automatically evolve once you’ve reached each subscription milestone. The badge that displays on your profile will be the most recent milestone that you’ve reached. 

Nitro Milestone Badge Evolution

If your Nitro subscription ends at any time and you resubscribe later, your badge progression will start fresh from the beginning. This means you'll need to maintain an active subscription to maintain your badge progress.

Checking Your Nitro Badge Progress

Desktop

To check your current badge level and when you'll reach the next milestone, just hover your cursor over the badge on your profile. You can also check your progress under Direct Messages > Nitro Tab.

Mobile

Evolving Nitro Badges on mobile is currently an experiment available to a limited number of users.

1. To check your current badge level on mobile, tap your avatar in the bottom right corner.  

2. Then tap the cogwheel icon [] to enter your Settings > Manage Nitro.

3. In your Nitro Home, you’ll find the Evolving Profile Badge card where you can select See All Badges to view your current badge progress.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens to my badge if I cancel or end my Nitro subscription?

A: If you cancel your Nitro subscription, your badge progression will reset. When you resubscribe, you'll start fresh from the beginning of the badge progression.

NOTE: The Discord Support team does not have the ability to update, change, or restore the evolving Nitro badge or any previous badge progress under any circumstances.

Q: Can I keep my evolved badge if I switch between Nitro and Nitro Basic?

A: The evolving version of the Nitro profile badge is only available with Nitro. If you decide to switch your subscription to Nitro Basic, your badge progression will reset and will not evolve. If you re-subscribe to Nitro after subscribing to Nitro Basic, you will start fresh from the beginning of the badge progression. 

Q: How do I view my current badge progress?

A: Simply hover your cursor over the Nitro badge on your profile to see your current level and when you'll reach the next milestone or visit Direct Messages > Nitro Tab > press on the Evolving Profile Badge card to view where you are in the progression of available badges.

Q: Can I choose which badge design to display?

A: No, the badge that is displayed on your profile will be the last milestone you reached and cannot be manually selected.

Q: Can I hide or remove my Nitro badge?

A: No, the Nitro badge cannot be hidden or removed from your profile once earned.
