What are Nitro Credits?

Nitro Credits give you Nitro for a limited amount of time.

They are earned by successfully completing specific Quests.

The duration of each credit varies depending on the Quest.
Nitro Credits do not expire and can stack if multiple Nitro credits are earned.
Nitro Credits do not become a recurring subscription.
Once all your Nitro Credits have been used and their duration is over, your Nitro subscription will revert to its normal state.
When Nitro Credits are active, you will not be able to purchase additional Boosts or cancel existing Boosts.

NOTE: Nitro Credits do not give you 2 free Server Boosts or the 30% discount on additional Boost purchases. However, you can still enjoy all the other Nitro perks. To learn more about all Nitro perks, check out this article.

How do I earn Nitro Credits?

To earn Nitro Credits, complete a specific Quest that offers them. Here's how:

1. Select the Discover icon [] at the bottom of the server list on the left side of the app.

2. This takes you to the Discover page.

3. Select the Quest tab within the Discover list to explore available Discord Quests.

You've now reached Quest Home, where you can find Quests offering Nitro Credits.

After completing the Quest, you'll receive a notification informing you that you've earned Nitro Credits!

Where can I view my Nitro Credits?

To view your Nitro Credits, go to your User Settings by selecting the cogwheel [] icon in the bottom-left corner of the app.

Then, press Subscriptions. In the Nitro Credit section, you can see how many credits you've earned, check their expiration date, and verify if your credits are active.

How do I use Nitro Credits?

Once they are earned, Nitro Credits activate automatically at different times depending on whether you have a pre-existing subscription or not.

No Nitro subscription: credits activate instantly upon earning them.
Active Nitro subscription: credits activate automatically at the end of your current billing cycle.

Nitro Subscription with 2 Boosts

If you have an active Nitro subscription that comes with 2 Boosts, there are a couple things to keep in mind if you earn Nitro Credits. When your credits activate:

You can transfer existing boosts and apply any available, unapplied Boosts while Nitro Credits are active.

You cannot purchase more Boosts or cancel existing ones while nitro credits are active.

Q: What happens to my Nitro subscription if I earn Nitro credits?

A: Your Nitro subscription will continue until the end of your current billing cycle. Then, your Nitro Credits will activate automatically, lasting for the time you've earned. Once your Nitro Credits have been fully used, your paid Nitro subscription will automatically renew again.

Q: I’m a current Nitro subscriber. What happens to my billing date if I earn Nitro credits?

A: Your billing date will be adjusted to reflect any additional time earned through Nitro Credits.

Q: I have active Server Boosts with my current Nitro subscription. What happens to these Boosts if I activate my Nitro Credits?

A: Your existing Server Boosts will remain active and unchanged. While Nitro Credits are active, you’ll be able to transfer your Boosts between servers as long as it follows the normal cooldown periods. See our Boost FAQ for more information.

Q: Can I purchase new Server Boosts when Nitro Credits are active?

A: No, you won’t be able to purchase new Server Boosts when Nitro credits are active.

Q: Can I cancel any Server Boost subscriptions I have while Nitro Credits are active?

A: No, you won’t be able to cancel any pre-existing Boost subscriptions until your Nitro Credits have been completely used.

Q: What if I earn Nitro Credits when my subscription is past due?

A: If you're rewarded Nitro Credits while your subscription is past due, they will be applied in one of two ways:

If no successful payment is made during the 30-day grace period, the credits will be applied after the grace period ends.
If a payment is successful, the credits will be applied at your next billing cycle.

Q: Can I use my earned Nitro Credits at any time?

A: Nitro Credits activate between billing cycles. They will automatically apply once your current subscription period ends. If you don’t have an active Nitro subscription, your Nitro Credits will be activated immediately upon earning them.

Q: How do Nitro Credits interact with Subscription Credits (Gifts)?

A: The interaction between Nitro Credits and Subscription Credits depends on your specific situation. Here are some common scenarios:

Active gift credit, no stored credits: Nitro Credits activate after current gift period ends.
Multiple stored gift credits with an active subscription: Nitro Credits activate after the current billing period. Then, the next gift credit will be used to continue the subscription.
Stored gift credits, no active subscription: Nitro Credits activate immediately. Doesn't affect existing gift credits.
