What is a Discord Server?
Discord servers provide you with the ability to create private, invite-only spaces for your friends or community—places where you can connect, collaborate, and enjoy meaningful conversations together. These dedicated spaces are what we call servers.
You can join existing servers or create your own for virtually any type of community or interest group. Whether you're organizing a book club 📚, coordinating with classmates in a study group 🖊️, managing a dance class 💃, or simply staying connected with close friends, Discord servers offer the perfect platform to bring people together around shared interests and activities.

What are Text and Voice Channels?
Your server is made up of text channels and voice channels. This allows you to communicate with the other members of the server.
Text Channels
Text channels provide dedicated spaces for written conversations, helping to keep discussions organized and ensuring everyone has room to participate. You can create individual channels for each topic your group enjoys discussing—whether that's planning fishing trips, sharing cooking tips, or any other shared interests.

Voice Channels
Voice channels allow you to connect with others through voice and video chat. Simply click on a voice channel to join—no calling or ringing necessary. Other members of your server can see when you're in a voice channel and easily drop in to chat, say hello on video, or share their screen with the group.
