What are Monthly Orbs Drops?
Monthly Orbs Drop is a benefit for Nitro subscribers that provide additional Discord Orbs on a monthly basis. As a Nitro member, you'll automatically receive 250 monthly Orbs that you can use in the Shop to get Nitro Credit, Avatar Decorations, Profile Effects, and other eligible Shop items.
These Orbs are added directly to your total Orbs balance. They're in addition to any Orbs you earn through Discord Quests, giving you more opportunities to personalize your Discord experience.
How to Earn Monthly Orbs with Nitro
Eligibility Requirements
To receive a Monthly Orbs Drop, you need:
- An active paid Nitro subscription through the desktop app or browser
- Your subscription must be in good standing (for example, subscription is not in a grace period due to payment issues)
- Be part of the Monthly Orbs Drop experiment group
Monthly Orbs Rewards are included for:
- Monthly Nitro subscriptions
- Annual Nitro subscriptions
- Subscriptions with selected promotional discount (including BOGO offers)
Monthly Orbs Rewards are NOT included for:
- Gifted Nitro subscriptions
- Nitro through Nitro Credits
- Nitro Basic or Classic plans
- Accounts with suspended or terminated subscriptions
- Nitro trials from partnership promotions
How Often You'll Receive Orbs
For eligible users in the Monthly Orbs Drop experiment, you will see a notice in your Discord app each month when your Monthly Orbs have been added to your Orbs balance.

Viewing Your Monthly Orbs Drop
However, your total Orbs balance will remain consistent across all platforms.
1. Navigate to your Direct Messages list by selecting the Discord app icon in the upper-left corner.
2. Press the Nitro Home tab to the right of your server list.
3. Scroll down the page until you see “Earn monthly Nitro Rewards”.

- Number of Days left until your next Monthly Orbs Drop
- The total amount of Orbs you've earned through Monthly Orbs Drops

Q: Do Orbs expire?
A: No, your Orbs will not expire! Once they're granted to your account, you can hold onto them for as long as you like.
Q: Does the platform I subscribed to Nitro from matter?
A: Yes, the monthly Orbs drop feature is only available to Nitro members who subscribed through the desktop app, browser, or mobile web.
Q: What happens to my Orbs if I cancel my subscription?
A: You keep any Orbs you’ve already earned from previous months. After you cancel, you’ll stop receiving future Monthly Orbs drops.
Q: My payment failed—will I still get my Orbs?

Q: Are Monthly Orbs different from Discord Orbs?
A: No, Monthly Orbs and Discord Orbs are referring to the same virtual rewards that you can earn on Discord. You can use them in the Shop to get Nitro Credit or items from the main collections.

A: Yes. To view your total Orbs balance, including Orbs from Monthly Orbs Drops and Quests, select the Clyde logo in the top left of your Discord app, go to the Shop tab, then select the Orbs logo in the top right.
